The Centennial Shrine and Lualhati Park are the starting point of most island-hopping tours in Coron.
Coron Baywalk
Situated in the reclaimed area of Coron Town, Coron Baywalk is perfect for taking a stroll, enjoying views of the town and the surrounding islets, and watching the sunset.
Maquinit Hot Springs
This hot spring is located in Maquinit Village, approximately 5 kilometers from Coron Town. There are two small and one large naturally occurring saltwater springs said to be heated by a volcano, with temperatures ranging from 39 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Mount Tapyas
Mount Tapyas is the second-highest mountain in Coron. It is 210 meters above sea level. The peak, which takes approximately 700 steps to reach, offers majestic views of Coron Town.
-
Kayangan Lake
Kayangan Lake is surrounded by limestone and lush tracts of greenery. It is the cleanest lake in the Philippines, with a composition of 70 percent freshwater and 30 percent saltwater. The ten-minute climb toward the inland lake includes a viewing deck midway through, where some of the most cinematic photographs of Coron have been taken.
Twin Lagoon
One of the must-see destinations in any Coron island-hopping tour, the Twin Lagoon is a sight to behold, with its beautiful crystal-clear waters and magnificent limestone landscapes. The first lagoon is where the passenger boats dock, while the second lagoon is hidden, accessible only through a crevice underneath a rock.
Malcapuya Island
Malcapuya Island is for those in search of the ultimate white-sand beach. With its long stretch of white powdery sand and sparkling clear blue water, as well as stunning rock formations and miniature caves, Malcapuya is perfect for day swims, sunbathing, and picnics. The water surrounding the island is also ideal for snorkeling, thanks to a rich marine life that features healthy, colorful corals and a myriad of fish species.
Banana Island
Like Malcapuya, Banana Island offers a pearly white and fine-sand shoreline. It is perfect for picnics, swimming, and beach sports such as volleyball and frisbee. From June to October, kiteboarding is popular on the island. Kiteboards are available for rent on the island.
Calauit Safari Park
The park is another must-see, especially when traveling with kids. While the site is on land, the best way to get to the park is by boat. Both African and endemic species roam around freely in the game reserve. Giraffes, zebras, and the Calamian deer are just some of the friendly animals you will get to meet.
-
Siete Pecados Marine Park
This marine park is dotted by seven tiny islands that may look plain and ordinary on the surface, but snorkelers will be amazed by the rich marine life, abundant corals, and a diversity of fish species to be found underwater.
Lusong Gunboat
The famous gunboat wreck at Lusong Island lies in the waters of Coron, Palawan. Apart from its rich marine life, the site is also popular for its shallow sunken Japanese shipwreck from World War II. It has an average depth of six meters (or twenty feet) and a maximum depth of ten meters or (thirty-three feet). Because of the water’s clarity and visibility, as well as its variety of underwater species (such as six bundled angelfish, copper band butterfly fish, sea cucumbers, puffer fish, sea turtles, and batfish), the sunken gunboat or submarine hunter is also perfect for snorkeling activities and underwater macro photography.
Calumbayan
Calumbayan Island is a privately owned 10-hectare island that serves as home to the finest pearl farm in Palawan. It is also considered one of the popular tourist attractions in the municipality of Busuanga. As a pearl farm, Calumbayan offers beautiful coral reef formation with giant numerous clams, as well as long white shorelines that are ideal for beach lunches and picnics.
Sangat Gunboat
This scuba diving and snorkeling favorite is home to the submarine chaser wreck that sunk beneath the calm waters of East Sangat Island during the Second World War. The 35-meter gunboat is still intact, and thanks to mild current and underwater visibility that stretches up to 15 meters, aquatic views from the wreck can be enjoyed even by snorkelers and diving beginners.
